Steven Universe

Earlier we blogged our old Adventure Time crony Ian Jones-Quartey’s Cartoon Network pilot, “Lakewood Plaza Turbo.” Now it’s Rebecca Sugar’s turn. Here’s Rebecca’s original short for “Steven Universe,” soon to be a big fancy-schmancy, uke-laden series on CN. Congratulations, Rebecca. I can not believe how much the show has grown and changed since this pilot; the show will look amazing, the people I am working with are amazing, wait up for the series you guys it’s gonna be something else!!! 

Ian Jones-Quartey, before he split to go work on Rebecca’s show, was a key creative-type for a good while on Adventure Time. (Fortunately, he’s still the voice of Wallow on Bravest Warriors.) He’s a truly busy man, so where he came up with the time to create this pretty awesome “Lakewood Plaza Turbo” for Cartoon Network no one knows.

Hey, how much did you like BMO’s song in “SHH!” last night? The one the bikini babes dug so much? The song is by the band LAKE. You probably recognized the voice of Ashley Eriksson from the show’s closing theme, “Island Song” (which you don’t really hear on TV because of the blahblahblah).
